Class 5 Delivery Truck Driver

**Full - Time permanent position with benefits**
**Start time: 630AM to 3PM with 30 minute lunch**
**Working days: Monday to Friday**
**No Weekends or Holidays**

**Shift end time will vary due to freight volume, traffic delays, weather, mechanical breakdown etc.... Overtime is paid after 9 hours worked**

**What you will do**:

- _**3 Ton Refrigerated Truck**_ to _**deliver and or pick up **_freights to assigned stops within the Urban areas of Dartmouth, Cole Harbour and Sackville
- Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time _**(approximately 25+ deliveries/day and up to 5 Pick-ups)**_
- _**Use a handheld device to scan **_documents and freights
- Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a pallet jack or a dolley as required
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
- Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Report on all safety hazards and accidents
- Use a cellular phone to communicate with Dispatch, Lead Hand and Manager ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Build strong client relationships
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
- Additional duties as required

**What we require of you**:

- High School Diploma
- Valid Class 5 License is a must
- Valid Class 3 Commercial Driver’s License is an asset
- Clean Commercial and Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Courier or LTL experience is an asset
- _**Minimum 1 year Commercial delivery TRUCK driving experience**_
- Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a pallet jack or a dolley as required
- Have physical stamina to perform duties in the job ie. _**lift up to 50lbs**_
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Customer Focus - experience providing quality customer service

- Experience working in a fast paced environment
- Experience working independently and with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work on a team and being a team player
- Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices

**Experience**:

- 3 TON Truck or higher Delivery Driving: 1 year (required)
- Lift, Carry, Load and Unload Freight from the Truck: 1 year (required)
- 25+ Deliveries a day in 3 TON Truck or higher: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Licence (required)
