Delivery Truck Driver

****This is a Floater Delivery Driver position ****

**The Floater Driver will train to cover all routes and be a back up for those who are on sick/vacation days.**

**Full - Time permanent with benefits**
**Work location - Dartmouth, NS**
**Working days: Monday to Friday**
**No Weekends or Holidays**

**Shift: 6:30AM to 4:00PM** **(end time may vary ie. dependent upon unforeseen delays, freight and or route coverage)**

**Overtime: Paid after 10 hours worked. Overtime is based on freight volume, weather, mechanical delays etc.**

**What you will do as a Delivery Driver**:

- Drive a Cargo Van ie. Ford Transit and or 3 ton commercial Refrigerated truck to deliver and or pick up freights in _**Halifax, Dartmouth and surrounding areas**_
- Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time _**(approximately 25 to 30 deliveries/day and 1 to 3 pickups)**_
- _**Lift and carry freight weighing up to 50lbs**_
- Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
- _**Load and Unload freight in proper sequence**_
- _**Use a foldable hand truck or a manual pallet truck**_
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
- Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
- Report on all safety hazards and accidents
- Use a cellular phone to communicate with Dispatch, Lead Hand and Manager ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Build strong client relationships
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
- Additional duties as required

**What we require of you**:

- High School Diploma
- Valid Class 5 License is a must
- Possess a Clean Commercial and Personal Driver’s Abstract
- Courier or LTL experience is an asset
- _**MUST HAVE 2 year Commercial TRUCK Delivery Driving experience in a 3 Ton Truck or higher**_
- _**Lift freight up to 50 lbs. and load in proper sequence of delivery with the use of a foldable hand truck or a manual pallet truck**_
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
