**Position: Community Engagement Clerk (CS 2)**
**Location: Edmonton**
**Term: Full-time, Temporary 1year**

We are currently looking for a permanent Community Engagement Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for working with the organization’s and liaising with community organizations and other staff and contractors to promote the best quality of life for the tenants. The position is also responsible for assisting tenants with transitioning through the spectrum of housing. They will focus on creating and maintaining beneficial relationships with the tenants, by ensuring that there is ongoing effective support and assistance.
**Key Responsibilities will include**:
- Build and maintain relationships with tenants for the duration of their tenancy with the organization.
- Explain and educate tenants on the various areas of the organization and provide contact information as required.
- Provide tenants with information and guidance on how to access and use various networks of support and/or resources/agencies within the community.
- Responsible for bringing forward issues and trends that the tenants are facing and work toward solutions to assist them in achieving goals.
- Addressing low levels of anti-social behaviour from acquired reports.
- Complete and conduct regular visits within specified timeframes. Review and complete all required documentation.
- Conduct eviction prevention assessments and implement policies, procedures and processes to help tenants maintain their homes.
- Responsible for supporting the transition and/or exit of tenants from our housing units.
- Coordinate the move-out process, liaising with required stakeholders and following necessary steps within prescribed legislation and/or policies and procedures.
- Conduct move-out inspection of property, documenting and photographing the unit to submit to tenant’s file and tenant.
- Assist tenants, with relocation as required, liaising and coordinating with the organization and other providers to enable the move to be as seamless as possible.
- Responsible to sign out and maintain Temp and Master keys for all doors in portfolio.
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of high school diploma and four years of **related**experience.
- Reasonable knowledge of basic accounting principles - basic-to-moderate level - to be able to prepare standardized reports and explain them to tenants.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, including, but not limited to, the Rent Supplement Regulation, Social Housing Accommodation Regulation, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Alberta Human Rights Act and the Residential Tenancies Act and regulations.
- Sound understanding of rental and leasing challenges and tenant relationships.
- Knowledge of other agencies or organizations to provide appropriate client referrals.
