Job Description: Seniors’ Tech Facilitator
**Location**: Beaches Sandbox
**Commitment**: 2 hours per week (instructional time Mondays, 2:30 - 3:30 pm)
**Compensation**: $35/hour (2 hours per class, once per week)
About the Role
Beaches Sandbox is seeking a patient, knowledgeable, and engaging **Seniors’ Tech Facilitator** to lead weekly sessions that support seniors in developing their digital literacy skills. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about bridging the digital divide and empowering older adults to feel confident and independent in their use of technology.
**Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate a **one-hour weekly instructional session** with a group of 10-15 seniors, supported by an additional hour of preparation and follow-up.
- Answer individual technology-related questions and troubleshoot issues in a supportive, approachable manner.
- Encourage and foster digital independence in seniors for their day-to-day lives.
- Create an inclusive and welcoming learning environment that accommodates a range of skill levels.
- Communicate with Beaches Sandbox staff regarding class needs, attendance, and participant progress.
**Qualifications**:
- Demonstrated experience in technology instruction, digital literacy training, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to explain technology in simple, practical terms.
- Experience working with older adults is an asset.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Reliable, punctual, and organized.
- **Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (required).**
Details
- **Schedule**: Mondays, 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm (with additional time for prep/coordination).
- **Pay**: $35/hour, for a total of 2 hours per class.
**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
