**A Day in the Life**

As Communications and Engagement Representative, you will report directly to the Director of Communications, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and marketing campaigns, promotional events and projects from conception to completion. Here’s what you can expect to dig into in this exciting, hands-on role:

- Develop engaging visual, video and publicity materials for the UFCW 1518 (I.e., posters, flyers, swag)
- Assist Officers with internal correspondence and support with copywriting and mass texts
- Lead initiatives and seek out opportunities to better engage members in their union
- Contribute to the creation of social media content, and update website content to help grow engagement
- Adhere to UFCW 1518’s overall brand, ensuring consistent and proper use by establishing processes and guidelines for effective and efficient communication and branding efforts
- Assist with revitalizing UFCW 1518’s web presence and contribute to efforts to build digital engagement, especially around organizing new members

**Your Qualifications**
- 4+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field
- Extensive and proven work experience executing successful campaigns using a variety of print and online communications
- Previous work experience in a communications firm, public relations agency, advocacy, not-for-profit, progressive political organization, or similar operation
- Professional knowledge of various software and apps such as Google, Outlook, MailChimp, Adobe software, Content Management Systems (CMS), WordPress, HTML, and CSS.
- Ability to present diverse materials effectively

**It’s a Bonus If You Have**
- Experience using a CRM system
- Knowledge of the role, objectives and activities of labour unions
- Ability to communicate effectively in a second language

**Compensation Range**: $63, 500 to $97, 500
