CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

We are looking to hire a **Project Controls Specialist** out of either our **Calgary, Edmonton or Grande Prairie** branch. The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting CDN with project performance information and reliable data. This position will focus on the integration of progress reporting and cost/margin performance against estimate baseline budgets to facilitate informed decision making. Provides mentorship and guidance to other team members.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain a reporting architecture and project lifecycle data environment for multidimensional performance and historical reporting.
- Leverage automation through Power Platform/Power BI to eliminate inefficient manual processes.
- Analyze and report on project revenue, progress and efficiency performance, and cost forecasts.
- Track actual project costs against budgets, contract expenditures, including change orders and contingency usage and analyze variances, reporting deviations to the project team.
- Keep Major Projects management team informed of project-related trends and risks; present results as needed.
- Participate and present in internal CMT project related and external client related meetings as required.
- Ensure adherence to client standards, contract management, and document control management.
- Drive standardization in processes to ensure quality data and efficient project reporting delivery.
- Collaborate with procurement for proper cost allocation of materials and monitor contract expenditures.
- Able to quickly grasp complex system requirements and convey them to a variety of audiences from senior level management to field level staff.
- Prepare required project set up documentation, project templates, rate sheet/ticket, and other required project kick off tasks.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members.
- All other duties as assigned.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Related University degree, college diploma, and/or trade certification and typically 9 or more years of related experience; or combination of formal education and experience.
- Expertise with project controls concepts and tools.
- Experience in record keeping, cost control and contract management.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with data automation and integration, particularly Power BI.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, team members and other stakeholders.
- Prior experience in a construction setting, either in the field or corporate.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills (Word, Excell, PowerPoint, Outlook).
