**Job Summary**:
**Essential responsibilities of a solar apprentice**:

- Lift, transport, prepare and assemble rooftop equipment, properly sealing all roof penetrations on varied roof surfaces
- Fasten racking to roof penetrations to support the solar modules
- Fish electrical wire through structures including attic work
- Fastening of electrical wire
- Make connections for solar modules
- Wire management and installation of solar inverters
- Lift, transport and assemble solar modules to racking
- Perform trenching, equipment assembly, concrete work or support structures installation according to owners manual/system designer
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Take pride in your work by paying close attention to detail

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Work in a fast-paced enviroment while maintaining attention to detail
- Take pride and responsibility in providing quality work
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn and follow instructions
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials 50lbs+ on a frequent basis
- Be comfortable working at heights
- Ability to travel throughout the province and stay away from home throughout the workweek
- Ability to stand, bend and twist for long periods of time
- Must be willing to work in any multiple weather conditions
- Willingness to learn electrical work
- Be comfortable with using hand tools and power tools
- Desire or active in an electrical apprenticeship

**Education & Experience**:

- Class 5 drivers license
- Fall protection certificate
- High school diploma

**Assets**:

- Construction and/or roofing experience
- Solar installation experience/training
- Electrical experience/schooling
- Boom truck operator
- Vehicle
- Current electrical apprenticeship

**Job type**:

- Full-time Salary: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

**Schedule**:

- 4 days 10 hour shifts when possible
- 5 days 8 hour shifts (winter months)

**Salary**: $17.00-$25.00 per hour
