**About the Opportunity**:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) works under the direction of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to enhance the skills and functioning level of clients. Service provision may happen within the Centre or within local schools. The OTA/PTA specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Implement assigned therapy programs for children with disabilities in an efficient and effective manner, support the functioning of clinics and group sessions
- Support activities of the interdisciplinary team to co-ordinate services to clients and families and contributes to the development of continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain awareness of relevant community resources and factors that impact disabilities to promote appropriate physical development and functioning.
- Exchange information and ideas in a manner which fosters understanding and positive relationships with clients, families, co-workers, and the community.
- Practice in a manner consistent with KidsAbility’s mission, values, and strategic plan
- Maintain the standards of practice, where appropriate, as outlined in the CPO and COTO guidelines.
**More About You**:
To qualify, applicants must have a Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) in addition to:
- Understanding of the OTA/PTA scope of practice
- Effective oral and written communication skills with high level of attention to detail and adherence to confidentiality standards
- Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team, as well as work independently with little direction, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines and have excellent follow-up
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage as travel is required
In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills and experience will be strong assets:
- Experience with children and youth who have a variety of developmental, physical, and communicative disorders
- Demonstrated collaboration, consultation and coaching skills working with diverse groups
- Excellent time management, problem-solving and caseload management skills
- Knowledge of AlayaCare or other electronic charting software
- Standard First Aid and CPR
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $24.98-$28.11 per hour
