We are looking for an
**_Associate Manager, Enterprise Risks and Controls_**

**_
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg._**

**Role description**:
Reporting to the AVP Enterprise Risks and Controls, the Associate Manager Enterprise Risks and Controls (ER&C) will support the AVP in designing and overseeing the implementation and ongoing execution of enterprise wide (Lifeco) risk and control methodologies that will ensure the Corporation effectively and efficiently manages highly material risks that may significantly impact sustainability.

Functional areas within the scope of the mandate include Current and Emerging Risks, Enterprise Risk Assessment, Issues Management as well as Lifeco’s Integrated Control Framework.

The role’s accountabilities extend to the following primary ER&C areas:

- Enterprise Risk and Control Frameworks**:support the execution and operation of the Corporation’s enterprise risk assessment program; integrated control framework; issues management framework; enterprise process, risk and control taxonomies, and other enterprise frameworks, including governance, processes, and methodologies, that enable the Corporation to manage risks efficiently and effectively
- Enterprise Risk Management Methodologies**:support the implementation and continuous enhancements of enterprise risk methodologies related to current and emerging risks, enterprise risk assessment, internal controls and issue management, and the execution of related quarterly production processes to position the Corporation to proactively address significant and emerging risks that have the potential to materially impact our capital position, reputation, and overall financial viability
- Enterprise Risk Oversight:support risk oversight, performing monitoring and reporting to ensure that highly material non-financial risks and emerging risks are managed in alignment with the Corporation’s risk appetite

**What you will do**
- Implementation and execution, including the operational activities of enterprise risk and control methodologies, processes and procedures for the Corporation’s integrated control framework, issues management methodology, enterprise risk assessments and enterprise process, risk and control taxonomies
- Support the development of performance metrics for measurement, monitoring, and reporting processes (including Key Risk Indicators) on enterprise and cross-risk types including current and emerging risks
- Execute Lifeco’s Current and Emerging risks process, including an awareness of global trends to document, monitor and report on the internal and external drivers affecting current and emerging risks. Provide analysis and commentary on risks as required
- Develop rigor around environment scanning for current and emerging risks to identify trends and early warning signs
- Perform research, summarize, and propose leading methodological approaches for enhancements of enterprise risks and controls methodologies
- Support enterprise risk oversight processes that drive the review and approval of risk assessments and mitigation of risks
- Develop and maintain documentation related to risk monitoring and reporting processes and activities. Prepare, review, and distribute regular risk reports and accommodate ad-hoc reporting requests as required
- Collaborate with other departments in support of the continuous development and improvement of ERM practices, develop and foster effective working relationships across the organization

**What you will bring**
- Undergraduate degree (BA or BS)
- At least 4-7 years of experience in risk management or compliance within a complex, global organization (banking, life insurance, wealth management, consulting) including exposure to risk management concepts and methodologies, measures, control frameworks, policies, and related processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information, and ability to present complex information in a simplified way to various audiences
