**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Development, the Director, Development is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors at the $100,000 plus level with particular emphasis on securing six and seven-figure gifts. The Director provides strategic leadership and management for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering’s fundraising team as part of the University of Toronto’s university-wide fundraising campaign.

The Director of Development brings a depth of experience through a full scope of fundraising, from major gift and annual giving strategy development to identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation of a personal portfolio of major gift prospects. The Director provides strategic vision and leadership in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive advancement program that includes the fundraising pipeline from annual giving to major gifts and gift planning in support of the Faculty’s Advancement priorities and ensures alignment with the Division of University Advancement (DUA) initiatives.

The Director also develops strategic initiatives designed to increase the interest and involvement of donors with the goal of pipeline development by converting non-monetarily engaged to monetarily engaged donors, elevating donors from annual gifts to leadership gifts ($1000+), leadership gifts to major gifts (e.g. $50,000+) and identifies potential planned and principal giving donors.

Strong computer skills, including word processing, database software and spreadsheet programs. Knowledge of DIS and FIS an asset. Exceptional oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Significant experience putting together Donor Proposals. Ability to work well in a team environment. Detail oriented; strong organizational, research, and analytical skills. Initiative, tact, diplomacy, and creativity required. Ability to multi-task successfully in a hectic and results oriented environment. Proven ability to motivate and manage staff and volunteers; leadership skills are essential.

**IV. OTHER**:
A comprehensive and global understanding of the Faculty and University of Toronto, as well as general knowledge of the post-secondary education system and the fundraising sector a strong asset. Ability to work some evenings and weekends. Travel will be required.

**Work location**: This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days per week in office, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
