Stolk Construction is currently recruiting an experienced, **Certified** **Carpenter** who shares our mission and principles. Their overall responsibilities will be to assist in the completion of construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. The individual will report a variety of construction tasks and will serve as a lead where carpentry work, or carpentry training is required. - Valid Certificate of Qualification - A member of Skilled Trades Ontario, Journeypersons class - 5+ years of successful Carpentry experience within the construction industry - Strong technical background and aptitude - Willingness to continually develop self and others - An ability to effectively develop strong relationships with clients, fellow team members and suppliers - An ability to coach, mentor, motivate, direct and supervise team members as required - A willingness to take on an apprentice - Strong communication and listening skills - High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency - Ability to work well individually and as part of a team **Safety** - Ensure all safety requirements are followed and met, striving for zero safety incidents - Abide by the Stolk Construction H&S Manual, as well as the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects - Report any jobsite injury and/or illness in an immediate manner to the appropriate Supervisor. **Knowledge of Work and Ability** - Understand your role and responsibilities as they relate to a specific project - Providing coaching on an ongoing basis to labourers - Maintain a can-do attitude - Act as a Supervisor onsite as required **Quality** - Ensure the proper level of quality is maintained while also attaining the outlined timelines of the task - Communicate material and equipment needs to the General Foremen / Project Manager in a proactive manner - Track and properly manage all company tools and equipment assigned to you - Follow instruction in an effort to complete tasks correctly the first time - Be open minded to coaching and development opportunities - Submit accurately completely paperwork in a timely manner **Communication** - Detailed, on-going, timely communications with General Foreman / Project Manager **Leadership** - Champion company procedures, policies, and initiatives to improve operations - Assess employee performance and provide feedback to the Director of Operations - Participate in quarterly employee evaluations, providing timely and relevant feed back - Maintain any company provided vehicle in clean, properly services and presentable order **This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities associated with the role.
