**Job Description **Journeyman Carpenter

The City of Port Moody has an excellent regular, full-time opportunity available for a Journeyman Carpenter. This position will provide a full spectrum of carpentry services including new construction, repairs, maintenance, renovations and painting to all departments.

Responsibilities include: carpentry work, including building, repairs, maintenance, renovation and painting; new construction in areas of office building, cabinetry, shelving, work stations and exterior work such as concrete work, stair building, bridge building and maintenance. This position is also responsible for preparing estimates and quotes on work proposed and completing projects on time and within budget.

**Basic**

**Qualifications**:

- Journeyman Trade Certificate in Carpentry plus 3 years of job related experience
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Ability to choose appropriate materials to complete work in painting, concrete, millwork, and finishing
- Ability to estimate jobs and work within a budget
- Ability to operate various tools and equipment
- Solid math, reading and writing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of BC Building Code (Part 9), W.H.I.M.S. data sheets and WCB safety standards
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
