Our diverse Group of Companies consists of Northern Strands, Fortis Mining Engineering & Manufacturing, and Certified Sales & Rentals. The Project Engineer-In-Training will assist the Project Manager, Superintendent and administrative support staff with the overall project in regard to general project engineering, planning/coordination, client interaction and communication, safety, scheduling, quality and cost/scope management. This position will be primarily office based with potential for short term on-site requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Eligibility for registration as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGS
- Technical background in an industrial or mining project environment considered an asset
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
- Previous experience in a related role will be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
**Basic Requirements**:
- Ability to commence full-time (40 hours/week) work from the beginning of May until the end of August;
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
- Strong time
- management skills;
- Ability to communicate clearly;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Ability to prioritize;
- Ability to understand and follow directions;
- Work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Work well alone or in a team setting;
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite is considered an asset.
