Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for working directly with youth ages newborn-19.
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of residential houses, provide crisis management, programming, and direct supervision to staff. This individual will implement behavioral/cognitive program through shift hours, provides supervisory support, ensure training requirements are met, and collaborate with Program Specialists.
Social Work Degree preferred or a Diploma in Human Service field or equivalent experience in human services in residential setting and supervisory experience preferred. In-service and additional training; job performance; clear and validated evidence of professional expertise and competent decision
Must be able to be on call in the evening.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:This statement of duties is for the purpose of identifying this position, **but it is not limited to**:
- Manage and supervise staff day to day implementation of program services provided to residents.
- Be available by phone or in person for staff support, consult and give direction to them.
- Responsible for implementing and managing staff schedules and on-call responsibilities, as well as being on call themselves, if no direct care staff is available.
- Attend and participate in meetings with clients, staff, and other professionals such as:
- Case Planning and Transition Planning
- Integrated case management
- Meet with Social Workers
- Doctors and pediatricians
- Counselors
- Monitor quality of services and documentation to make certain that all internal and external quality assurance measures are met and prepare related performance and quality improvement reports.
- Build relationships and trust with traumatized and disenfranchised Children ages newborn-19.
- Ensure safety of residents and promote confidentiality.
- Develop and facilitate independent life skill programming as needed.
- Meet with new staff and walk through an orientation check list.
- Review daily case notes of staff at resources.
- Write accurate and descriptive case notes and critical incidents.
- Provide mediation and conflict resolution as appropriate, to address all conflict and safety concerns in the home.
- Document all meetings and progress on case management notes of resident’s activities and maintain resident’s records.
- In collaboration with general manager, conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on task assignments and goals, as well as routine audits of resident files.
- Respond to crisis as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies including contacting appropriate staff, being available on weekends and evenings for crisis intervention if needed.
- Promote the cooperative, harmonious, teamwork and professional environment WS strives to maintain within the workplace.
- Conduct performance reviews with staff, have follow up meeting and set up goals and expectations for them.
- Promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect in line within the philosophy and policies of WS to all residents and staff.
- Participate Integrated Case Management meetings and implement recommendations out of them.
- Report to the Program Manager and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes and individual and team training needs:
- Meet with each staff weekly in the resource.
- Maintain a monthly budget for each of the resources.
- Maintain a staff development budget.
- Create employee reviews after first 6 months, then yearly.
- Plan and organize staff meetings.
- Setting up new resources and closing resources.
- Work with management team to implement TYC & C policies, protocol, and procedures.
- Uphold WS policies.
- Mediate conflict resolution.
Additional Qualifications:
- Residential care experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with youth and sensitivity to the needs of sexually exploited youth is required.
- An experience working with mental health related issues, complex trauma, substance abuse, court involved youth, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, child welfare related issues and crisis intervention techniques is required.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate small groups and workshops.
- Ability to work a minimum of three (3) days/nights a week and be available for crisis as needed.
- Certified in Child/Adult CPR and First Aid level 1 and Non-Crisis Intervention Training.
