- **Part time staff position - 20 hours weekly/varies *Must be able to attend and travel to all quarterly 2-3 day retreats (minimum of 8 retreats per year) **_

**Aanji Bimaadiziwin** **(A Changed Life)** is a program for Indigenous women and 2S folks to have culturally based healing opportunities, and in doing healing work, learn also how to mentor others using the agency’s mentorship program Survivor to Survivor as a base. This project will also update the anti-human trafficking toolkit previously developed. (10 hours) This contract is to March 2026, possibility of extension.

**Akinoo’amaadiwaad ji nookaadiziyang (those who meet on the land to teach each other the tender life) **is a system innovation program for Indigenous youth, with multiple Indigenous led agencies as partners. With this grant, we have developed a youth board who will articulate their needs for new programming for resolution of sexual violence/mental health needs for their peers. Our partners will work with us in assisting with system innovation changes. (10 hours) to March 2028.

Both programs are incorporating land-based healing experiences as part of the in person meeting and program discussion. These retreats are an important part of this job role.

Our agency is committed to practices which incorporate two eyed seeing and developing healing practices and systemic change advocacy for survivors of violence. **Qualifications**

This role requires some knowledge of Indigenous cultural healing practices, an ability to work independently and as part of a lively and dynamic team, and some experience in a helping role with others, with related training and education an asset. Lived experience as a survivor of colonial violence/sexual assault/mental health and have done your healing may also be an asset in this role. You need to have an energetic and positive outlook to this work and willingness to share the work of both projects in close relationship with team members. Knowledge and experience in ceremony is not required but an asset and you must be willing to embrace participation and assist others in these experiences. Patience and a sense of humour are valued in our team.

**Responsibilities in this role are split between two funded projects centering Indigenous youth, women and 2S folks.**

1- Working with the primary facilitator, assemble, support and co-facilitate bi monthly meetings of the youth advisory board of 10 Indigenous youth who have experiences relevant to oversight of program development needs for other youth;
- assist youth with their needs to access this work
- enable these youth to articulate system-based changes they believe would create more accessibility for other youth, and
- assist to implement programming for one year following,
- support team with evaluations in place

2- Working with the primary facilitator, support and co-facilitate weekly talking circles and mentorship training for the women and 2S members of the mentorship project.
- Assist women and 2S with their needs to access this work
- Assist participants in talking circle focus on their own healing and awareness of healing needs within their communities
- Support team with evaluations in place
- Create discussions which enable safety and/or accountability for their discussions which may include their own vulnerabilities,

These tasks include but are not limited to:

- Working with mind map consultants, create records of important discussions
- Provide short-term support for participants in the programs as needed
- Provide supportive feedback to 8+ collaborating partners regarding the needed program

adjustments (primarily MPSSAS SAC and B’saanibimaadiziwin Indigenous Mental

Health, plus key others)
- Identify other partners who may participate in program adjustments to create more

accessibility for Indigenous youth and bring them into later stages of the project
- Assist youth and women with travel needs to access the land-based program (minimum of 8 retreats per years)
- Collaborate with the program Knowledge Keepers/Elders to develop and implement

land-based experiences for program explorations
- Advocate on behalf of Indigenous participants in multiple service systems
- Assist youth in identifying systemic issues and barriers and in finding, planning and

implementing their own solutions in tandem with the project staff
- System Innovation Project pilot program design

**3- Through input and collaboration with youth and project partners, assist with design of a pilot program and implement the program for a one-year period in year 3 of the youth project.**
