**Employment dates: June 23- August 23, 2025 (9 weeks)**

**$20 per hour, 30 hours per week**

Pacific Coast Stage Co. is hiring a **Marketing Coordinator & Production Assistant**for their 15th annual Nanaimo Fringe Festival. The Festival runs August 7-17, 2025 across various indoor/outdoor venues in downtown Nanaimo.

The **Marketing Coordinator & Production Assistant**will receive arts event mentorship under Pacific Coast Stage Co.'s Artistic Producer and Producing Staff. They will complete a variety of tasks in collaboration with the Associate Festival Producer, Volunteer and Hospitality Coordinator, Graphic Designer, Festival Photographer, and the Outdoor Venue Technician.
- Reporting to the Artistic Producer (AP), and Associate Festival Producer (FP), services will include, but are not limited to: _
- Plan and implement a marketing and publicity strategy, that you present to PCSC Producing Staff

**-Be present, on hand, and on call at all times for the duration of the Fringe Festival, August 7-17, 2025**

**-Strike the Hub (info tent) daily with the Volunteer & Hospitality Coordinator on-site**

**-Oversee a venue during the dates of the Festival;**
- Manage all poster & Festival Guide distribution across the city, with the FP’s direction
- Promote, advertise and recruit festival volunteers, record all contact/availability information accurately and pass on to Festival Producer (FP)
- Arrange and attend artist press interviews, providing ample notice and clear communications
- Set up interviews with PCSC Producing staff, providing clear and effective scheduling communications and ample notice
- Liaise with the Festival Photographer/Videographers and schedule them in to photograph specific shows, events etc
- Maintain and update the Nanaimo Fringe website, Facebook page, Youtube channel, Instagram page, TikTok and Twitter page with relevant content (social media); respond to public enquiries within the realms of your knowledge and defer to AP/FP as appropriate.
- Create graphic design materials as requested;
- Create Mailchimp newsletters and communications
- Connect with community stakeholders to provide comp tickets etc.
- Liaise with Tourism Nanaimo and other community stakeholders on festival promotions
- Produce copy for Fringe ads
- Liaise with AP on placing ads after start of contract
- Create and distribute press releases
- Organize & run the Nanaimo Fringe presence at the Nanaimo Night Market, Thursdays, 3:30-9:30 pm (this requires unloading, setting and packing up, loading, and storage of Festival merch in totes)
- Coordinate Fireside chat recordings for July and August
- Develop and pursue sponsorship opportunities (coordinate with the FP)
- Pursue grass roots promo opportunities
- Develop innovative marketing and promo strategies at the Night Market and overall Festival
- Work with FP to prepare & distribute thank you cards upon Festival closing for stakeholders, billets etc.
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- As the Production Assistant, work closely with the Outdoor Venue Tech (OVT) to support this venue
- Provide 30 minute daily breaks for the OVT by covering their duties during this time
- Organize all of your tasks into a digital management system and share with the AP
- Report to the AP, and when unsure of a policy or procedure, contact the FP, or if unavailable, the AP, 100% of the time
- Compile marketing report upon completion of contract - review success/challenges of the Fringe strategy/campaigns, with recommendations for future enhancements
- Attend a post Festival debrief with AP and Producing Staff
- Perform all other reasonable requests from PCSC Producing Staff
- Be flexible, patient, a problem solver, punctual and meet all deadlines;
- Work within and remain under budget;
- Retain all approved receipts for reimbursement;
- Be highly familiar and comfortable working with Google Drive and other management software/ tools;
- Be familiar with adobe illustrator, photoshop and other design programs;
- Be open to suggestions and feedback re: marketing/ publicity from PCSC Producing Staff;
- Have a class 5 driver’s license and vehicle available for use throughout the Festival dates in Nanaimo, August 7-17, 2025
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or terri
