**Overview**:
To support our mission, the Council maintains a Major Projects Inventory, a project-by-project database of major investment activity and development in Atlantic Canada. Updated annually, it is a valuable forward-looking tool that businesses across the region use for planning, forecasting and identifying project leads.

The Major Project Researcher is responsible for collecting primary data and information from companies and government departments across Atlantic Canada to update our Major Projects Inventory, which will be released to our members and key stakeholders in Spring 2025.

Data is collected through direct communication with stakeholders involved in the region’s largest projects through a variety of direct communication tools and online research to identify potential projects. This position provides an exciting, fulfilling opportunity for hands-on applied research experience in a business setting, engagement with key stakeholders across the region and enhanced insight into the key industries driving the Atlantic economy. There may also be an opportunity to support other projects at the Council as opportunities arise.

**Qualifications - the applicant should have**:

- some previous research experience in a business setting
- a strong understanding of the Atlantic Canadian economy
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- a strong Excel background and experience maintaining databases
- ability to effectively organize and self-manage
- strong writing skills with the ability to synthesise complex information
- an understanding of the construction sector would be an asset

**Duration**: The position is for 14 weeks (35 hours per week) starting February 10th.

**Compensation**: $25/hour
