Position is for in-person/hybrid in Vancouver, British Columbia, 40 hours/week. Applicant must be eligible to work in Canada.

about the role

**Supporting Senior Manager, Global Patents with the following**:

- Execute patent team processes for capturing and tracking of innovations coming from innovation teams
- Work with cross-functional partners in innovation teams to identify innovation that can be protected
- Conduct prior art patent searches
- Manage the innovation capture, clearance and registration process.
- Identify protectable invention.
- Identify possible risks due to prior patents.
- Decide on design patents to protect key product
- Liaise with external patent counsel on patent draft, filing and prosecution matters in North America and Globally
- Prepare checklists, templates and work standards for the patent team
- Docket and manage due dates for the patent portfolio
- Compile information required for patent litigation matters
- Contribute to the development and support of company’s patent portfolio

- 2-5 years technical writing experience
- Excellence in technical writing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to understand and learn a wide variety of technical areas including technology, fabric engineering, product development, emerging retail methods and design
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Detail oriented and committed to a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
