As a Cost Control Manager within Pomerleau's Major Projects team, you will play a key role by significantly contributing to the management of our major projects. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $250 millions to over $1 billion - you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Major Projects Support Directorate to analyze and develop budgets and best practices regarding project opportunities and help project teams make informed decisions.

What you will do:

- Organize the cost control team on a major project: Allocate and delegate tasks, set objectives, and support skill development for each member.
- Create project-specific processes and procedures and monitor their implementation.
- Lead budget control and ensure the dissemination, explanation, and adherence to the Major Project Management Methods, proposing changes when deemed appropriate.
- Develop strategic dashboards (budget recalibrations, budget control KPIs, etc.), management dashboards (cost control), and operational dashboards (labor tracking, concrete tracking, etc.) based on the strategic plan objectives of the Project Directorate.
- Consolidate and ensure the reliability of project operating results by analyzing physical progress and spending rights, incurred costs, remaining work and spending, key ratios, and their changes. This includes material, accrued expenses, and staff and hourly personnel time tracking.
- Ensure proper entity management by producing and analyzing: cost control, budget recalibrations, the most significant ST contracts, the entity's indirect costs, applicable contract penalties, and compliance with the framework agreements negotiated by the Purchasing Department. Also, analyze various variance accounts (materials, personnel, etc.) when applicable.
- Participate in team competency management and lead training on essential management and information system usage points.
- Participate in closing meetings of internal audit missions conducted within the scope and ensure the effective implementation of recommendations.

This role is for you if you have:

- A degree in management, engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
- Proficiency in Office Suite, advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP and InEight is a plus.
- 10 years of experience, including 5 as a team manager.
- Experience in Construction is an asset.
- Ability to anticipate and plan priority tasks.
- Good listening skills, synthesis ability, and strong interpersonal skills.

Additional assets:

- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and French.
