Urban Nature Store is seeking full-time and part-time Team Members for our Pickering, Ontario location at 609 Kingston Rd (at Whites Rd) Required Skills and Qualifications - 1 year of retail or service related experience (Pet, birding or garden sector experience would be an asset) - An interest in wild birding - Strong retail merchandising skills - Open availability - Days, evenings & weekends. - Ability to read, write and speak English - Basic math skills as it relates to retail sales - Intermediate computer skills - Ability to work independently - Ability to lift 50 lbs bags - Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store - Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for: - interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, including recommending appropriate products and demonstrating their proper usage. - processing transactions on a computerized POS system - accepting all forms of payments (cash, debit, credit) - processing returns and exchanges - assisting with the maintenance of several Google spreadsheets - promotion of our loyalty rewards program - receiving bi-weekly shipments - filling seed from master to smaller bags - maintaining a clean, organized and well-merchandised store **Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent **Salary**: From $15.75 per hour **Benefits**: - On-site parking - Store discount Day range: - Every Weekend - Monday to Friday - Weekend availability Flexible Language Requirement: - French not required Shift: - Day shift Work setting: - Specialty store COVID-19 considerations: Enhanced cleaning of high-touch surfaces, plexiglass barriers installed at checkout, hand sanitizer and optional masks available to all staff and customers. **Education**: - Secondary School (preferred) **Experience**: - Retail sales: 1 year (preferred) - POS: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: One location
