Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Coordinator to join our team. This role ensures the efficient and accurate movement of goods while maintaining professional customer service and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
This position will be on site full-time in our Etobicoke production facility with occasional travel required to our Burlington Facility.
We are actively recruiting for an open role within our organization.
Position Functions
- Receive customer orders and advise customer when material will be available
- Coordinates the programming of the Shear lines to eliminate additional material usage and to ensure cost effective production reducing scrap generated
- Receive or generate production tags; organize tag files; issue tags to Production Supervisor
- Post schedule board and updates with customer delivery details
- Receive information from the Production Supervisor and or Production Manager or Superintendent regarding order progress
- Coordinate with the sales department, customers and logistics on delivery of materials in a timely fashion and make note of when and where placers are required
- Enter order information into database and ensure accuracy of information reported
- Generate and issue the appropriate bill of lading to comply with invoicing requirements
- Prepare reports for customers and auditors by pulling data from production to create Mill Test Certificates, Quality, Quantity and Fabrication Date/Time with a high degree of accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure no downtime in production and notify Superintendent as necessary to order material
- All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
Fast-paced high pressure environment with physical demands.
Physical Requirements
Standing and sitting for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling. Lifting Up to 9 kg (20 lbs), Steel toe boots required.

Preferred Qualifications
Relevant Trades Certificate / Diploma
2- 3 years experience in shipping/coordination
Experience in Industrial Facility, Warehouse or Steel Fabrication
Experienced with Microsoft Office & Google Suites
Strong Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) Software
Proven skills in Shipping and creating Bill of Lading(BOL) documents
- Experienced with using scanners and other office equipment
