We are hiring a Maintenance Planner at our Service Centre in Kitchener, Ontario.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Follows Standard Work Procedures/Instructions as outlined by the organization, providing suggestions for improvement.
- Customer Service:

- Main liaison for customers interacting with Service Centre.
- Prompt, courteous, and respectful communication with both customers and employees.
- Service Centre Planning:

- Organize and prioritize work scheduled to come into the Service Centre.
- Perform inbound inspections, prior to equipment entering the centre.
- Prepare repair quotes and follow up with customer for approval as required.
- Ensure all equipment requiring repairs are accurately captured.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of technician times are captured within our maintenance system.
- Leadership:

- Contributes to team planning huddles as well as attends and contributes to the team’s daily shift startup huddles for both shifts.
- Provides guidance and support to lead hands/foreman, technicians and shunters when required.
- Ensures all team members are following Standard Work Procedures and Standard Work Instructions.
- Ensure Standard Work Instructions are up to date and encourage team’s members to also provide suggestions and ideas for improvement.
- Monitor jobs and escalate issues, to avoid any problems or delays proactively.
- Monitor Technicians work order times in the system to ensure accuracy.
- Administration:

- Review, close, and sell work orders to customers in a detailed, accurate and timely manner per company targets.
- Escalate productivity/billing issues to Manager for review before closing.
- Schedule and attend staff meetings and trainings, after hours if required.
- Continuous Improvement:

- Work with Lean tools and techniques to identify and solve problems.
- Ensure team members are trained on standard work and other lean tools.
- Work continuously to eliminate waste to increase capacity and improve productivity.
- Health and Safety:

- Is aware of supervisor’s and employee’s responsibilities and follows health and safety policies and procedures as per regulations.
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by the tasks, SDS or company policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Licensed 310J, 310T with strong knowledge and experience in truck and trailer repair.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standards (VMRS).
- Ability to manage tasks and productively switch tasks.
- Comfortable with working in high pace environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Good communications skills.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
