**Job Summary**

We’re looking for a **General Manager** who thrives in a dynamic retail environment and values quality, community, and a well-run shop. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the market, managing staff, maintaining excellent customer service, and supporting product ordering across grocery, gift, and specialty food categories.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Leadership & Store Operations**
- Oversee daily operations to ensure a smooth, clean, and welcoming store environment
- Hire, train, and manage team members with a focus on morale, teamwork, and customer service
- Manage staff scheduling, timekeeping, and performance
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Handle opening and closing procedures and ensure compliance with health & safety standards

**Product & Inventory Oversight**
- Assist with product ordering — especially in core grocery and seasonal categories
- Collaborate with the Ordering Manager on inventory planning, product mix, and vendor relationships
- Monitor stock levels, minimize waste, and help keep displays full and attractive
- Contribute ideas for new products, local vendors, and creative merchandising

**Customer & Community Engagement**
- Build relationships with regulars and foster a community-first atmosphere
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and special requests with care
- Support store events, tastings, or seasonal promotions

**Financials & Admin**
- Help manage budgets, payroll, and operational costs
- Monitor sales and performance metrics using POS and inventory systems
- Assist with invoice approvals and vendor payments when needed
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (food safety, alcohol sales, etc.)

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
