**Position Description**:
**Here’s What You’ll Get to Do**:

- Lead the development, implementation, and completion of program evaluation of pilot projects:

- work with implementation leads and healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive strategic evaluation plan that identifies and prioritizes evaluation activities to be completed during the mandated time
- Provide expert consultation to implementation teams leading the program development activities, including:

- determining the purpose of the evaluation;
- framing evaluation questions;
- developing evaluation design;
- defining evaluation methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed);
- assessing validity, reliability and trustworthiness of data;
- analyze and interpret data;
- draw conclusions and make recommendations
- report evaluation findings and results
- Consider the unique interests, issues and circumstances in which evaluation skills are being applied
- Lead evaluation activities including indicator development, data collection and methodologies, data entry, analysis, and reporting
- Build strategic internal and external relationships and partnerships to define and advance the MH Strategy evaluation mandate.
- Contribute to literature and advance the field through presentations and participation in conferences as appropriate:

- Assist in the dissemination of various program documents such as newsletters, success stories and other related documents to various stakeholders when required.

**Here’s What You Will Need**:
Evaluation design:

- Good understanding of various methodologies in evaluation, such as surveys, record reviews, focus groups and case studies and can contribute to the development of the most efficient and effective methodology for the design, with mínimal guidance
- Data Collection and Analysis
- Demonstrated experience managing, linking, and analyzing large-scale data sets using advanced statistical methodologies.
- Competencies to collect reliable, valid, and accurate information in an objective way
- Technical skill to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Good understanding of questionnaire design and can develop questionnaires and other review instruments that will address issues identified in the design, independently
- Masters effective interviewing skills and can conduct interviews independently
- Has the skills to use programme data and documents and to design and conduct case studies independently. Can guide and direct other staff in data collection and to ensure the data analysis addresses evaluation issues.
- Oral and written communication skills:

- Can develop clear, concise, and compelling evaluation reports that meet donors and funders reporting standards
- Evaluation process management:

- Masters the skills of evaluation management, including developing a plan and schedule, assigning tasks, ensuring milestones are met on a timely basis, ensuring project costs are within an approved budget and ensuring evaluation objectives are adequately addressed
- Can independently assume responsibility for managing complex evaluation projects and to supervise evaluation team members
- Has skills to negotiate outside the agency on issues related to evaluations and conflict resolution skills
- Technical / Professional Accreditation (License, Certification, etc): Canadian Evaluation Society Credentialed Evaluator is an asset
- Minimum three years of experience in program evaluation.
- Familiarity with health professions and/or health services is an asset
- Experience with and understanding of evaluation methodologies, knowledge translation and consultation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including workshop and group facilitation experience
- Education:

- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Evaluation, Social Science, sociology is preferred
- Certification in Program or project management, administration, research, policy or decision support specialist/analyst, quality improvement preferred
