- Work Location: This position will have some flexibility of working from home and will be required to be on-site when needed at the Alliance office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Evaluation and Knowledge Translation Specialist develops, implements and oversees the evaluation strategy and knowledge translation activities for the Social Prescribing project. This role works closely with the project team, project participants and stakeholders to integrate learning and improvement into project practices and mental health delivery.
- Collaborates with the team in the planning and evaluation of the project.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Oversees the design of databases, data collection forms, error checking methods and related programmes for collection, analysis and reporting.
- Designs, coordinates, and conducts interviews and focus groups to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
- Coordinates data collection, delivery, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting.
- Performs analysis, interpretation, evaluation of results, and prepares reports.
- Analyzes development of processes, structures and systems to integrate learning and improvement into project practices.
Program Evaluation
- Prepares data management and operations documentation for the project.
- Liaises between study centre and remote study sites and personnel.
- Communicates the project’s progress through regular reports.
- Troubleshoots issues throughout research study development and implementation.
- Applies specialized knowledge and scientific principles to review, critically appraise and interpret published literature.
- Uses statistical software to analyze data and interpret results.
- Writes sections of scientific papers, funding proposals and abstracts.
- Conducts literature searches.
Knowledge Translation and Exchange
- Leads knowledge translation and exchange initiatives; raises the projects’ profile at the appropriate forums and events.
- Provides subject matter expertise relating to the evaluations; presents results at meetings, seminars, conferences and events as required.
- Develops final project reports and materials, including public-facing resources.
- Conducts knowledge sharing and communication with project implementers, partners, and relevant external audiences to demonstrate the impact of social prescribing work through info graphics, poster presentations, webinars, publishing articles, etc.
Communications
- Develops materials and messaging by collecting, reviewing and summarizing information from various sources.
- Supports the creation of press releases as needed.
- Collaborates with internal teams to plan and implement knowledge mobilization initiatives using various platforms: social prescribing newsletter, social media, print, digital print, video, ebulletin, etc.
- Undergraduate degree in program evaluation, social sciences, or social services research, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in research and analysis support for a busy and diverse team.
- Experience in conducting and supporting program evaluations and/or public health, or social science research.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative evaluation/research methods.
- Experience with communications or knowledge translation initiatives for projects.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills to prepare a wide range of products and help stakeholders understand evidence/ data.
- Ability to synthesize and translate complex information and experience for different audiences in a variety of formats, including verbally, in writing, and online.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities and seek assistance as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
- Extremely detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of web design and internet culture, with the ability to use various applications to build knowledge mobilization products and resources.
- Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Ability to conduct work in keeping with the Alliance’s commitment to anti-oppression, anti-racism (including anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism), French language services, and to being 2SLGBTQ+ positive.
- Previous experience in a health or health promotion environment preferred.
- Experience with graphic design an asset.
- Previous project management experience an asset.
