**About the Student Success and Engagement at Humber**:
The Student Success and Engagement (SSE) team is a service-oriented portfolio whose mission is to empower our diverse community of learners to discover their potential. Within SSE, examples of our services are Student Wellness, Student Life and Learning, Accessible Learning Services, Advising and Careers, and Athletics and Recreation. SSE aims to cultivate curiosity, resilience, confidence, and reflection in our learners, so that Humber students can thrive both within their academic pursuits and beyond.

**About the Manager, Student Life Role**:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Life & Learning, and working in collaboration with partners in the College and the broader community, in support of Humber’s retention and equity strategies, the **Manager, Student Life **is responsible for the development, delivery and assessment of a wide range of co-curricular programs to meet the diverse needs of students and support their success through all phases of their college experience. This includes student-facing community building, mentoring programs, and out-of-class engagement, and skill development opportunities that are designed to complement in class learning, support a successful transition to post-secondary learning, and enhance community life and inclusion at Humber.

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Social Justice and Equity Studies, or related field.

**Experience/Skills**:

- Sophisticated understanding of post-secondary/higher education and supporting diverse student populations and leading practices in peer mentoring, transition supports, community engagement and co-curricular programs with an equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging lens
- Proven ability to supervise and manage the work of others including addressing performance issues.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Experience in building effective partnerships and collaborative initiatives with a broad range of stakeholders including Deans, Associate Deans & student governing bodies, and external community agencies.
- Familiarity with the ethical standards and best practices set by the CACUSS (Canadian Association of College & University Student Services), CAS (the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education), CICan (Colleges & Institutes Canada), and HEQCO (Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario).
- Working knowledge and experience with key legislation such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Ontario Human Rights code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Superior organizational and time management skills as well as demonstrated effectiveness in project planning and implementation as well as budget management. Demonstrated experience fulfilling business plans.
- Excellent Oral and Written Communications skills, including public speaking, and presenting.
- Skills in the development, deployment and utilization of evaluation and assessment measures.
- Computer and internet literate, with the ability to lead the implementation of new technological modalities, including web-based service delivery tools and client record management solutions.
- Act independently and with little supervision, utilizing strong judgment and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in the development, implementation and assessment of programs and services, preferably in the post-secondary context.
- Extensive knowledge of student development theory, transition theory, and high impact practices in promoting student success in PSE.
