Gledhill Avenue Child Care Centre (GACCC) is a non-profit childcare centre that has serviced the local community since 1989. We are located within a TDSB elementary school. Our centre has a licensed capacity of 166 children, with before

The Site Supervisor, under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of GACCC while monitoring and implementing the organizations Mission, Vision, Program Statement, Policies and Procedures, and compliance with all regulatory bodies. The Site Supervisor’s primary roles include providing general staff management, daily monitoring of curriculum planning and implementation; leadership and mentorship to employees; ensuring centre compliance within day-to-day operations; acting as a main point of contact for families; providing effective communication to families and employees regarding Centre operations; completing general on-site administrative tasks and waitlist management.
The Site Supervisor’s role is to provide strong leadership, mentorship, and training to employees through facilitating team meetings, access to professional development opportunities, providing in-room modelling and support and providing useful resources and materials for staff development. The Site Supervisor is responsible for regular monitoring of staff performance, and implementation of Level 1 and Level 2 progressive discipline when necessary and in accordance with the related policies.

- Ability to be on-call to make staffing arrangements and/or deal with urgent situations.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when using any form of public communication and/or social media.
- Demonstrate the ability to temporarily step into the Executive Director role as Designate, when required.
- Work independently, and at times, with mínimal direction.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of the following documents: _Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), 2014 and o.Reg 137/15; “How Does Learning Happen? 2014”; Early Learning for Every Child Today (E.L.E.C.T); City of Toronto’s Assessment for Quality Improvement (A.Q.I); Toronto Public Health Infection Prevention and Control Measures/guidelines._
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- **Employee Development and Management**_
- Implement effective employee monitoring by observing employee performance and completing monthly observation notes for all employees.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records of all evaluations, disciplinary and coaching, and/or mentoring discussions.
- Set clear, results-oriented goals for employee performance, with realistic and measurable outcomes.
- Promptly address employee performance concerns by implementing Level 1 and Level 2 Employee Progressive Discipline policy and procedures as required.
- Delegate responsibilities to employees as outlined in their position descriptions to meet the Centre’s day-to-day operational needs.
- Adhere to all legislative requirements outlined in AODA, Ontario Human Rights Code, and GACCC’s Accommodation Policy.
- Implement new employee orientation training.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees as appropriate to improve performance.
