We currently have an **exciting opportunity **as** a Buyer Co-Op Student. **This role is based in our **Oakville Office** in and reports to the Manager, Indirect Purchasing.

**Job Summary**

The Co-Op buyer will assist in performing purchases consistent with parameters set out by the budgetary and forecasting exercises to support business needs. The incumbent will work towards finding opportunities and implementing initiatives to improve site efficiencies. This role responds to the needs for procurement of goods and services to support site’s operations & productivity.

**Requirements**:
**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with Site Purchasing activities, specifically for Indirect Items
- Assisting with Inventory Management
- Finds opportunities and implements initiatives to improve site efficiencies
- Overlooking supplier performance, special attention should be given to delivery dates
- Keeping Plants abreast of potential supply chain risks
- Assisting with Procurement of Indirect Items (Industrial, Safety & Janitorial Supplies, Waste Management, Oils & Lubricants) as requested
- Observing and analyzing KANBAN/Min-Max to run inventory levels
- Coordinating between 3 departments: Procurement / Accounts payables / Receiving
- Collaborating with team members on different projects as needed

**Qualifications & Experience**:
**Education & Certificates**
- Being currently enrolled in post graduate studies in Supply Chain Management or in Business Administration.
- A SCMP / CPM accreditation is considered an asset.

**Technical Skills & Experience**
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques
- Experience using various MRP/ERP system
- Experience in supply chain or manufacturing field would be an asset
