**POSITION MANDATE**
Provides effective and cost-efficient information technology services for TPS and its staff. Assists with the necessary administration, maintenance, design, modification, implementation and security of the technical network and IT infrastructure.
**REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES**
Technical
- Installs new / rebuild / repair existing servers, desktops, laptops, phones, cell phones, photocopiers and configure hardware, software, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Assists in planning and maintaining network security and perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Performs and verifies regularly scheduled (daily, weekly, monthly) backup operations, ensures all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Creates, changes and deletes user accounts per request.
- Provides support as requested from various system users. Investigates, diagnoses and solves user’s software, hardware and network issues, using Help Desk System following the Help Desk Procedures.
- Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted users.
- Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Assists with the configuration CPU, memory, and disk partitions.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of the installation procedures, work instructions, configuration procedures, system standards and documentation in relation to Job function.
- Assists in planning and undertaking of the scheduled maintenance upgrades.
- Records and maintains log of software licenses, warranty and maintenance contracts and network access.
- Performs regular file archival and purge as per standards and operational requirements.
- Assists in researching and sourcing outside IT service providers.
- Assists in researching & recommending innovative cost-effective hardware and software IT solutions.
- Complies with, upholds and participate sin the company safety culture and policies.
Administration & Financial
- Helps to define and implement information technology policies, procedures and best practices.
- Prepares information technology reports, as required.
- Maintains documentation of installation procedures, configuration procedures, work instructions, system standards and network hardware & software licenses.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
The position requires a post secondary diploma, preferably in computer science technology and at least 2 years relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Recommendations and/or solutions regarding IT infrastructure meet the needs and expectations of TPS and are appropriate for the organization.
- Positive and professional relationships and communications with internal and external contacts essential to performing the position’s duties are established and maintained.
- Staff receive helpful support, development and guidance.
- Internal quality standards, established standards and practices, policies, procedures and relevant legislation and regulations are consistently followed.
