**Minimal Requirements**:

- College Certificate (CRST) Canadian Registered Safety Technician
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a H&S role in a manufacturing environment
- Must have thorough knowledge of OHSA standards and WSIB regulations
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, easily adapting to changing situations

**Nice to Have Requirements**:

- JHSC certified member is an asset
- Experience in an ISO14001 environment is an asset
- Familiarity with machining, tooling, analytical troubleshooting and project management processes

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducts safety training for new employees and annually or periodically provides job safety specific training for all employees.
- Conduct/chair JHSC and periodic safety meetings and regular on-site inspections.
- Requisitions safety equipment, maintain inventory of supplies.
- Monitors the safe operations & compliance of all safety & health rules and procedures by all employees.
- Will lead accident/near miss investigations. Assists and ensures that investigations and training are done and follows up with Department Managers on implementation of any corrective actions.
- Responsible for maintenance of SDS records and hazardous chemical lists.
- Conducts hazard analysis (JSA’s) and assists in the development of policy recommendations for safe operations.
- Conducts annual fire drills, spill response, WHMIS and LOTO for the entire facility.
- Prepares and presents safety reports, TRIF, IIR, 1st Aid room Data, etc.
- Maintains H&S communication boards - including posting for legislative requirements
- Responsible for OHSA inspections and to prepare the follow up report to the DM and the MOL, if required
- Handles proper disposal of non-hazardous wastes with outside vendors.
- Responsible for all environmental issues and monitor compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Manages all divisional responsibilities associated with EMS Program
- Other duties as assigned
