**Job summary**

We are seeking an **experienced** Data Insights and Pricing Analyst to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish strategic data capabilities, support the implementation of several systems including new matter management and pricing tool and cloud upgrade of the existing practice management system (PMS). The role requires strong interpersonal skills to work with internal stakeholders including lawyers, members of the executive team and other leaders as required to advance initiatives and reporting.

The Data Insights Analyst will play a key role in analyzing historical profitability, cost structures and client needs to develop effective pricing proposals and improve matter planning. This role offers a unique blend of financial analysis, systems implementation and working cross-functionally to collaborate and support across finance, marketing, HR, IT and solution delivery.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Profitability and pricing analysis_
- Helping implement matter management and pricing system
- Working closely with the finance team and vendor (Iridium) to understand cost rates and standard rates and implement and optimize the firm’s new matter management and pricing tool
- Assisting with data migration, configuration, testing and user training for system rollout
- Developing alternative fee arrangements and budgets for clients across all offices
- Partnering with lawyers and practice groups to develop pricing proposals aligned with client requirements and firm objectives
- Analyzing historical matter data, profitability metrics and cost rates by timekeeper level to discover pricing opportunities and develop recommendations
- Modelling the impact on profit of proposed alternative fee arrangements and running sensitivity analysis given changes to hours, leverage, realization and fixed price amounts
- Cross-functional collaboration_
- Helping implement new PMS, including validating data and finding opportunities for internal controls
- Partnering with internal teams (marketing, HR, IT, solution delivery and lawyers) to align data inputs, reporting standards and business processes
- Contributing to initiatives that improve pricing transparency, client reporting and financial insights across the firm
- Working with file opening teams to coordinate data clean up tasks and initiatives
- Data and reporting_
- Leveraging tools such as SQL, Power BI and Excel to create dashboards, analyze trends and present insights to stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining pricing, matter management and profitability reporting frameworks
- Understanding nuances of input data from the PMS (Aderant) and human resources information system (ADP)
- Finance support_
- Assisting with finance deliverables that relate to executive presentations, board meetings and other special projects as required

**Qualifications include**:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related field
- CPA or other post-graduate designation is preferred
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial analysis or business analytics
- Experience working with Iridium/BigHand product suite and Aderant is preferred
- Experience working in a professional services firm (e.g. accounting, law, engineering) is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (experience with complex spreadsheets and advanced formula functions), SQL and Power BI, with the ability to build financial models and data visualizations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with senior professionals
- Skilled in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights and presentations for lawyers and other internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
