**Purpose**:
The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Research & Partnerships, and working with the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies & Research, the Knowledge Mobilization Specialist (KMS) supports LA&PS faculty members in generating broad impact by connecting research outputs to target audiences. The KMS works with faculty members to develop targeted knowledge mobilization plans for projects and proposals. In addition, the KMS coordinates with other knowledge mobilization experts, both internally and externally, to ensure that faculty members, trainees, students, and external partners have access to expertise and best practices relating to knowledge mobilization. The KMS will have a detailed knowledge of knowledge mobilization (KM) best practices, frameworks and methodologies, relevant to research in the social sciences, humanities and professional studies, and be capable of engaging directly with faculty members on KM content development. The KMS will advance KM activities for LA&PS researchers by:

- creating and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, trainees and students to understand ongoing research projects and funding agency requirements related to KM.
- assisting in creating opportunities for research partnerships with external organizations.
- working with new and existing research partnerships.
- liaising with the LA&PS communications team to facilitate the promotion and communicate the impact of LA&PS research outputs, both internally and externally. The Knowledge Mobilization Specialist will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration and continuous improvement. embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.

**Education**:
Master's degree in a relevant field, preferably Communications and/or Journalism or an equivalent of 5 years recent experience (defined as within the last six years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
Three (3) years of experience working with a specific knowledge mobilization or communications mandate, either in a university research administrative environment or in an equivalent government, NGO, community or voluntary agency, in a research or policy environment. Experience with methods for measuring and incenting research impact including alternative metrics (altmetrics), which capture online activity around a researcher's output. Demonstrated experience using and instructing on the use of social media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) required, preferably in a research environment. Ability to work with databases and web content management systems. Knowledge of University research and financial policies and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to use Google analytics and other web metrics, preferably as related to measurement of research impact in Canadian postsecondary sector.
