**WHO WE ARE**:
Ottawa Fastener Supply is a locally owned hardware store that specializes in power tools & accessories, safety supplies, woodworking equipment, material handling and of course, fasteners. We are a close-knit, small(ish) group who need to expand our crew at our East End branch at 3020 Hawthorne Rd, and,
- **We need someone to join our Retail Sales Counter Crew**_

No split shifts. No crazy weekend hours. No wild busy periods.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet customers, identify customer needs, and assist them in the purchasing of new product
- Adapt communication styles to deliver information effectively to a wide range of individuals
- Ensure retail sales transactions are completed successfully using a POS system and respective monetary transaction methods (cash, Interac, account billing, etc.)
- Ability to conduct RMA’s and facilitate warranty service and repair solutions
- Help customers find the perfect product or service and respond to their questions
- Handle customer complaints should they arise, escalating to the appropriate individual/level as deemed necessary

**Required Skills**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Knowledge and experience with computers, Microsoft Office suite of products, and retail POS systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekdays and Saturdays as required and occasional overtime if/when required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
- One or more years of customer service and/or retail experience preferred
- Reasonable knowledge of tools and fasteners will be considered an asset
- Valid drivers license required

- Professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to represent the company in a positive manner
- Ability to maintain a high level of retail sales service and knowledge
- Natural ability to engage customers and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle dynamic situations in a fast-paced environment

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Day range:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Shift:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- OTTAWA, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- sales: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
