**Position Overview**

As a Commercial Roofing Estimator at Metro Roofing and Sheet Metal Ltd., you will be responsible for accurately assessing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates, and developing competitive bids for commercial roofing projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful acquisition and execution of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Project Assessment & Site Visits**
- Conduct on-site evaluations to assess existing roof conditions and gather necessary data for accurate estimation.
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work.

**Cost Estimation & Bid Preparation**
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Develop comprehensive and competitive bid proposals that align with client specifications and budget constraints.
- Utilize estimating software to perform quantity takeoffs and calculate project costs.

**Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination**
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.

**Client Collaboration & Communication**
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on roofing solutions.
- Present bids and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the estimation process.

**Documentation & Reporting**
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and related documents.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status of bids and proposals.

**Qualifications**

**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for commercial roofing projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g.Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.

**Skills & Competencies**
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proven ability to develop competitive and profitable bids.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
