Furcon is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Events and Marketing Coordinator. The Events and Marketing Coordinator role is a new and important position at Furcon with responsibilities including, preparation of marketing materials, management of website and social media accounts, procurement of and distribution of company merchandise, and organization of internal and external events.

In this role, you’ll be working with our Operations Manager and Vice President of General Contracting to support our strategic role for growth and customer engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

This role will be dynamic with varied responsibilities, but will have opportunities for rapid growth at Furcon.

**Likely responsibilities and duties include**:

- Liaise with Project Managers to identify opportunities for site photos (before/after photos) for use on the company website and other marketing purposes.
- Updating and maintaining company website and social media accounts. Includes identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth.
- Organizing internal events (Motivational/team building events, lunches, end of year party etc )
- Organizing external events (Customer lunches, golf games/tournaments, etc )
- Identify viable options for company merchandise
- Identify and order/deliver incentives and gifts to staff and customers.
- Customer engagement and customer relationship management.
- Engage with customers and maintain positive relationships
- Receive feedback and reach out about potential work opportunities
- Participate in some site meetings to meet new customers and understand the work we do.
- Liaising and surveying with customers, Furcon staff, and subcontractors to understand interests for potential events or merchandise.

**Other potential responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Assist in preparation of standardized document templates
- Assist in bids and tenders to prepare graphics, portfolios and other supporting documents.
- Assist in the hiring process

Required Qualifications

Education
- Degree or Diploma in marketing, communications, PR, Business Administration (or related field)

Employment Experience
- 2+ year(s) marketing and events coordination experience (or equivalent)
- Customer engagement experience is considered an asset but not required.

Skills & Abilities
- Outgoing personality and strong communication skills
- Proactive, entrepreneurial individual capable of identifying opportunities
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience or knowledge of contracting or construction industry (considered an asset)
- Ability to manage social accounts directly (creation of content, publishing, moderating, advertising & media and reporting)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
- Website design or graphic design software experience

Other
- Valid G-Class driver’s license
- Fluency in written and spoken English

Salary

$50,000 - $60,000 / year salaried, respectful of your experience and education

Office located in Mississauga, ON with travel required to sites in Peel Region, Toronto, and York Region.

Schedule

This role is a 7.5 hour/day, 5 day/week role with some requirements for evenings/weekend on-call support of events.
