We are currently looking for a **Financial Analyst** for our Burlington Corporate Headquarters.
Since 1930, Vicwest has been North America’s metal roofing and cladding experts - engineering and manufacturing metal roofing and products that support the entire building envelope and withstand our harshest climates. Not only are our products fully recyclable at end of life, but our aim is to produce them in the most environmentally responsible way.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s most well-known building materials suppliers as it embarks on a significant growth journey through new product launches & market penetration. As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program revolving around reducing the impact of our materials on the built environment.
**Position Summary**:
**Key responsibilities**:
- Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial status
- Develop reports that provide insights on our profitability at both an operational and commercial level
- Develop predictive financial models to support forecasting & organizational decision-making
- Create Power BI dashboards that enable management and the executive team make strategic decisions to meet business goals
- Analyze processes to identify gaps that can be streamlined or automated to ultimately improve financial metrics & organizational efficiency
- Establish benchmarks for financial and operational metrics
- Track financial performance to highlight deviation from forecast
- Assist in future M&A activities including due diligence and post acquisition integration
- Coach staff and invest in their professional career growth
- Liaise with all departments to provide cross functional data analytic support for the business
- Initiate and drive ad-hoc projects that support our key finance and strategic business goals
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics
- 2+ years of experience in accounting/finance or financial analysis
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Ability to work with large datasets
- A formal accounting designation (CPA) or CFA is an asset
- Knowledge of corporate finance, information analysis and financial diagnosis
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Advanced knowledge of SAP FICO module
- Power BI proficiency
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Bilingualism (French) is an asset
