JOB DESCRIPTION FOR STREET OUTREACH SERVICE (SOS) TEAM MEMBER

REPORTING: IS RESPONSIBLE TO AND REPORTS DIRECTLY TO THE SOS SUPERVISOR

FUNCTION: TO ENSURE THAT UNSHELTERED HOMELESS PERSONS GAIN ACCESS TO AVAILABLE SHELTER AND OTHER RESOURCES AND SERVICES THROUGH A MOBILE UNIT

A. CLIENT SUPPORT SERVICES
2. Initiate contact and establish a working relationship with unsheltered homeless persons for the purpose of providing assistance with attaining adequate shelter and access to needed services.
3. Make referrals to appropriate community resources.
4. Provide homeless persons with transportation to shelter, withdrawal management services or other services.
6. Participate in appropriate workshops, trainings, and meetings as directed or approved by the Executive Director.
7. Maintain confidential information within guidelines established by Shelter House’s Confidentiality Policy.
8. Maintain complete client records, daily activity logs, mileage logs, and other reports as directed.
9. Take appropriate action to deal with any homeless emergency situation.
10. Perform other duties as needed or as directed.

B. VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
1. Report any necessary maintenance to the Director of Operations.
2. Maintain inventory and cleanliness through established processes.
3. Use caution and safe driving techniques while operating the vehicle.

C. HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform duties with a safety first mentality and operate within the limitations established by the Organization.
2. Report all health and safety concerns to the Director of Operations.
3. Take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
4. Work in a healthy and safe manner.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: Up to $21.06 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
