We are currently looking for **Labourers and Carpenters** to join our Bridge Division team in Grande Prairie, Bezanson, AB.
**What is the role?**
Reporting to the Bridge Division Foreperson, the **Labourer’s** focus is to support the Bridge construction production, becoming a key player within the crew.
- Assist with demolition of concrete structures
- Operating equipment and machinery such as jackhammers, bobcats and small hand tools
- Assist skilled trades people and perform a wide range of tasks at construction sites
- Repairing Guard Rail
- Building concrete forms
- Crack repair on Bridge deck
- Flagging and traffic control
- Loading, unloading, identifying, and distributing materials and equipment
- Cleaning and preparation of construction sites

The **Carpenter’s** main focus is to support the Bridge construction production, becoming a key player within the crew.
- Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden and/or metal forms, according to specifications, for molding concrete structures such as: piers, footers, retaining walls, abutments, parapets, caps, columns and bridge decks
- Saw lumber per blueprint dimensions, using handsaw or power saw, and nail lumber together to make form panels
- Lift and handle built-in-place forms and/or assembles, erect and install prefabricated forms
- Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions
- Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables and planks
- Build rough wooden structures such as: scaffolds, temporary frame shelters, overhand jacks and safety railings
- Lift and set rails for finishing machine
- Pour concrete informs and desks which requires vibrating, shoveling and raking. Also assist cement finishers
- Able to understand and follow blueprints
- Miscellaneous rebar tying

**Qualifications**:
**What do we value?**
- 3+ years minimum construction experience; Heavy civil/Industrial/Commercial experience is preferred
- Journeyman Carpenter Ticket is preferred
- First Aid and Fall protection training is an asset
- Physically fit and able to do physically demanding work for extended period
- Able to work at heights (stripping buggy and bridge master hanging over the bridge railing and up from the river)
- Able to work in winter conditions and under pressure
- Good team player
- Able to understand and follow directions
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and has own reliable transportation
