**You are**
- An Intake Counselor_. You responsible for facilitating the intake process, supporting the Program Manager in managing persons waiting for access to services, and performing a variety of clerical tasks.
**Your Role**
- Provide information about the mandate and services of the program and eligibility criteria to applicants, public and collaterals.
- Support the Program Manager in determining basic eligibility for Manitoba Possible services by gathering or receiving the required documentation and comparing it to established program criteria.
- Respond to general enquiries about Manitoba Possible services by assisting callers to locate appropriate resources, if available.
- Support the Program Manager by triaging persons waiting for access to Manitoba Possible services.
- Support the Program Manager by responding to inquiries from persons waiting for access to Manitoba Possible services.
- Create and maintain electronic and physical client file, including maintaining current information in the client database.
- Provide clerical support to the program such as, but not limited to, photocopying, filing, ordering supplies, receiving and distributing mail, etc.
- Maintain, compile and distribute statistical information.
- Adhere to all Manitoba Possible policies and guidelines.
- Consistently communicate in a respectful, responsive and responsible manner.
- Respect and value the diversity of communities and individuals.
- Collect, analyze and report on data and relevant information.
- Promote awareness of and participation in Manitoba Possible’s activities and community projects.
- Understand Manitoba Possible’s vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities and demonstrate the ability to put them into practice in the workplace.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and expertise regarding areas of practice.
- Lead by example through individual performance and behavior.
- Prioritize workload regularly.
- Work collaboratively with others to achieve program and organizational goals.
**What You Know**
- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline with 2 - 3 years’ experience in a social services agency.
- Good knowledge of disabilities, medical diagnoses and associated functional limitations is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of French language is an asset.
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and ASL an asset.
- Knowledge/experience related to intervention programs for preschool children who have a hearing loss.
- Knowledge of the resources available to families with children age birth to 6 who have hearing loss and other disabilities.
