JATEC is an established Edmonton based company that has been connecting communities for over 40 years. We have expertise in the installation of street lighting, highway sign infrastructure, fiber optics and underground utilities for residential development across Canada.

**JOB** **SUMMARY**:
We are seeking a motivated and professional Summer Student to join our team as our Receptionist for a part-time summer contract position. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, this role provides a welcoming presence at our front reception and supports general administrative functions across the business, with a focus on HR-related tasks.

The hours of work would be 30 hours per week, scheduled from 8:00AM to 2:30PM, Monday to Friday. There is flexibility in this schedule and it can be discussed.

This opportunity is ideal for a post-secondary student looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional office environment, particularly in human resources and business administration.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Greet and direct visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer and redirect incoming phone calls, take messages when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front reception and shared office areas.
- Coordinate couriers and manage incoming/outgoing mail.
- Order and track office supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in onboarding process for new hires.
- Support ongoing HR tasks such as organizing orientation sessions, compiling documents and supporting recruitment needs as required.
- Complete audits on electronic files.
- Provide general clerical support including filing, document prep, data entry, and other administrative tasks as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Enrollment in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
- A reliable method of transportation to our Edmonton office.
