_**Live-in Treatment**_ _- _**Full Time**_
**Our client**, based in York Region (Richmond Hill & Aurora), is seeking hardworking and motivated Child and Youth Workers. Reporting to a Program Coordinator and Program Manager, they will be an integral part of the Therapeutic Live-in Care (TLC) Program, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to maintain a therapeutic environment that addresses the social and emotional needs of latency-aged children. This a yearly renewable contract, in which primary focus of this role is to assist children to develop their emotional regulation, self-esteem and social skills ,as well as to learn to build meaningful relationships and to modify dysfunctional behaviours. The Child and Youth Worker in the Milieu environment also works directly with families and community partners to ensure consistent communication and treatment planning.
**Other Responsibilities**
- The Live-in Treatment program is a 24-hour program. Staff are expected to be work on a rotational schedule that includes evening, weekends and overnight shifts.
- Household maintenance and duties that includes meal planning and preparation, laundry, driving clients to appointment/visits.
- Participating in Treatment Reviews and Meetings in the role of client advocacy.
- Attend Program Team Meetings.
- Co-development, implementation and tracking of treatment interventions. This includes reporting outcomes of interventions.
**Position Qualifications**:
- Child and Youth Worker or a diploma in a related field from a recognized Community College, or a Bachelor of Arts degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Formal Crisis Intervention Training.
- Valid Drivers’ License and use of a vehicle.
- Ability to speak French or another language is desirable.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Demonstrate initiative, integrity & honesty.
- Have experience in utilizing a variety of interventions, skilled in milieu counselling, assessment and treatment, and group work.
- Be a confident decision maker and demonstrate a commitment to the children and the ability to be an active part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrate responsibility for inclusive behaviour with staff, students and clients.
- Demonstrate capacity to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as observation and assessment skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
- Be familiar with computers for the purposes of data entry, information sourcing and report writing.
