**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the Supervisor of Sportsfields and Parks Maintenance is responsible for the delivery of grounds maintenance within the Parks and Open Space System and the maintenance of all sportfields and sport courts within the parks system. In addition, the position is responsible for the delivery of winter control services relating to the maintenance of trails, sidewalks and Town owned parking lots.
**Job Duties Include**
The following responsibilities and duties of this position includes but is not limited to:
- Assists in developing work plans and priorities for grounds maintenance and sportsfields.
- Ensures service levels are maintain for grounds, sportsfields, playgrounds, and trails.
- Oversees contracted services and ensures compliance with Town standards.
- Ensures timely garbage removal within Town parks and trails and graffiti/vandalism is addressed promptly.
- Monitors service levels, responds to after-hours issues, and ensures timely resolution of concerns.
- Provides timely and objective reporting to the Manager and participates in corporate initiatives.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to residents, sportsfield user groups, and elected officials.
- Coordinates with sportsfield user groups for permits, tournaments, and service delivery.
- Provides supervision and leadership to staff; participate in recruitment, promotion, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensures staff and resources are assigned based on Town policies and the Collective Agreement.
- Provides on-call supervisor support for winter control.
Qualifications/Skills
- A 3 year college diploma in sportsfield maintenance, turf management or a related discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in required field with a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience or a combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent.
- Four (4) years of winter control experience, with an understanding of Municipal Maintenance Standards and Hours of Work Legislation.
- Integrated Pest Management accreditation in good standing relating to turf insects, diseases, and treatments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff team.
- Excellent working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act.
- Excellent organization, time management and planning skills.
- Experience in utilizing maintenance management software for assigning, tracking and verifying maintenance activities in alignment with approved service levels.
- Proven skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn other software to assist in organization for the section (i.e. ActiveNet, CityWorks ).
- Experience in the broader public sector, in a unionized environment an asset;
- Must be able to deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License with a clear driver's abstract.
- If hired, ability to provide a Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to the Town.

- Compensation: We offer competitive pay that reflects the responsibilities of the position.
- Hours of Work: This is a non-union position that works 35 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position provides on-call supervisor support for winter control.
- Hybrid Work Program: The Town offers a Hybrid Work Program. A flexible work arrangement, including the option to work from home some of the time, is currently a possibility with this position, and can be discussed during the interview process.
