**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Responsible for the leadership and oversight of Student Life including strategic and program planning, people leadership, financial management, stakeholder relationship management, and operations.
**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of leadership practices related to planning, policy development, financial management, program development/evaluation, performance and risk management, project management, contract management, customer service, and human resources
- Knowledge of issues, trends, and challenges related to Carleton and the university sector with an expertise in student affairs and student life
- Knowledge of contemporary best practices in Student Affairs and Student Life/Experience Knowledge of the governing legislation
- Knowledge of cultural competency and diversity
- Knowledge is deployed for purposes of solving complex and interrelated student success issues that require the development of strategies, programs and services
**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Master's degree
- Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience
- Minimum of five (5) years in management and leadership roles
