**SUMMARY**
Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that supports people living with cancer, their caregivers, and family members. We serve the Niagara region and are currently seeking a **Program Coordinator** to join our team.
At Wellspring Niagara we provide a caring community by offering free in-person and online programs, so anyone living with cancer, their caregivers, and family members can access vital information, meaningful support, and effective coping strategies.
**DESCRIPTION**
The **Program Coordinator** is a key part of the mandate and purpose of Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Foundation. The Program Coordinator will organize and coordinate a comprehensive roster of programs, the volunteers, and program leaders associated with programming and maintain member data. This person must be exceedingly well organized, personable, flexible, and perform the duties in the context of Wellspring’s commitment to programming practices and standards.
**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:
- Coordinate all program scheduling and communicate with staff.
- Liaise and be a direct point of contact for all program volunteers, schedule all front-line program volunteers and library volunteers, and determine any additional recruitment needs.
- Maintain and monitor the Peer Navigation program on a weekly basis and actively review with volunteers, as required.
- Maintain and input all Peer Navigation logs, in a timely manner, ensuring all active logs are refiled with appropriate peer support volunteers and completed logs are filed away.
- Input and maintain all completed program attendances in the database and communicate with the Program Manager regarding the status of data. When necessary, liaise with other staff for data input support.
- Regularly manage and audit program schedules, wait lists, peer navigation files, volunteer schedules, and reiki schedules. Immediately troubleshoot and report to Executive Director any conflicts and issues.
- Ensure all program spaces (whether in-person or virtual) are set up to accommodate the daily program schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Update BrightSign on a weekly basis, or as required.
- Coordination of training for volunteers and onboarding new volunteers, including scheduling training and buddy shifts, and in-centre orientation.
- Attend all Program Committee meetings, Strategic Planning sessions, and Wellspring Network Program meetings.
- Liaise with the Wellspring Network and other community organizations, as required.
- Ensure all program evaluations, as prepared by the Project Manager, are distributed in a timely manner, all program evaluation procedures are up-to-date, that the evaluation summary (completed by the Program Manager) of all programs are reviewed and forwarded to the program leader, the Executive Director and Program Committee.
- Update and revise program material prior to distribution (e.g., membership, program attendance, lending library, mail, and online distribution) and data collection procedures;
- In conjunction with the Program Manager, prepare, create, and organize the program planning schedule, and once approved by the Project Manager, distribute and share accordingly in a timely manner.
- Liaise with the Program Manager to assess the need for additional promotion of specific programs to ensure attendance capacity.
- Understand program policies and procedures and ensure that these program policies and procedures are carried out by the program volunteers and leaders.
- Support the Program Manager with research and recommend new program ideas that comply with Wellspring’s program mandate, for consideration by the Program Committee.
- As required, attend community outreach events by public speaking and presenting about Wellspring Niagara’s programs and services and any community program partner meetings, i.e. Walker Family Cancer Centre, Caregiver Network of Niagara, Grief Network of Niagara, RAVA, etc.
**Qualifications**
- 1-2 years post-secondary.
- Diploma or Degree in a health or social service program, with a minimum of three years experience.
- Experience in a health or social service environment is an asset.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential.
- Exceptional communication skills, a strong teamwork ethic, and demonstrated strong planning and organizing abilities.
- Ability to be flexible and manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
- Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to speak publicly to groups of all sizes an asset.
**Conditions**
