**Demand Planner (Consumer Goods, Hybrid)**
Our client, a well-known Food & Beverage Consumer Goods Company, is looking to hire a seasoned**Demand Planner** on a **Permanent, Full-Time basis** to support their business.
This is a **Hybrid** role, that will require 2-3 days in office for meetings and collaboration. The company office is located in **Concord, Ontario**.
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Demand Planner will be responsible for developing base forecasts and providing forecast driver details to ensure the company makes informed production & material supply planning, capacity planning and financial outlook decisions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop, maintain and present a product statistical-based forecast, managing other base forecast inputs for a specific segment of company business, in support of the monthly Sales and Operations Planning processes
- Identify Customer forecast gaps and follow up with Customer Business Managers as necessary to resolve discrepancies
- Act as liaison between Sales, Commercial, Procurement, Planning & Logistics, and Operations to support planning for key product categories
- Lead meetings as required with Sales to drive improved business planning by proactively seeking information and per-forming analyses that lead to better, more accurate mid
- to long-term forecasts
- Use Sales reviews to ensure understanding of planned promotional events & expected volume, and provide historical and forecast information to stakeholders to ensure accurate production planning, calling out gaps to future plans
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Utilize customer data (i.e. Retail link) and collaborate with the customer counterpart for better forecasting
- Provide input in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Perform analysis on trade inventory positions and determine shipment impact as a result of customer level inventories
- Prepare exceptions, updates and documents for meetings, attending and making presentations as designated
- Initiate/contribute to the annual business planning process through identifying customer base forecasts
- New item sales tracking & communication to support forecast models
- Maintain Key Customer forecast models using intelligence from top accounts
- Subject Matter Expert, ensuring it remains operational and resolving issues to continuously improve it
- Communicate through key exception reports, forecasting gaps either historical or future vs. plan
- Generate reports that demonstrates performance to actual sales
- Ensure forecast accuracy, mitigating issues that impact the business through product cost write-off exposure
**Experience**:
- Completion of a Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field required
- 3-5 years of experience in a demand planning role of medium SKU complexity at a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods company
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
**Skills**:
- High degree of accuracy and detail orientation
- Strong analytical skills, with a proactive focus to anticipate issues and optimize schedules
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective presentation skills
