Right now we are looking for a **Social Worker** to work within our **Outpatient, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic**. This is a program within our **Mental Health Addictions Programs.**

**Hourly Rate**:$44.67 - $57.90

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in the Urgent Clinic to assess and provide psychosocial support to individuals (children and youth) who are in need of urgent short term crisis intervention and stabilization post discharge from the Emergency Department (ED) and the Emergency Psychiatric Unit (EPU).
- Completes a psycho-social assessment and provides therapies with children/youth and families using a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities that are short term (supportive, crisis counselling and brief solution-focused, trauma-informed stabilization treatment) to promote crisis stabilization and a return to an optimum level of functioning in the community.
- Using a holistic approach, provides psycho-education and consultation services to patients and their families to promote stabilization of symptoms.
- Acts as resource of discipline-specific expertise to other members of the treatment team including ED/EPU.
- Provides health teaching to children/youth and family members concerning illness, symptom management using a biopsychosocial framework, using a trauma
- informed lens.
- Supports and undertakes timely discharge planning services for children and youth and their families as required.
- Works in a manner to ensure safety to oneself, patients, colleagues and the work environment.
- Participates in reflective practice as per identified College standards.
- Other related duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- MSW obtained from an accredited School of Social Work.
- Current membership with OASW and OCSWSSW.
- Certification in the prevention and management of aggressive behaviour is an asset.
- Five (5) years’ current experience working with children/ youth and families in a urgent mental health clinic is required.
- Five (5) years current experience in child and family therapy required.
- Recent experience working with the various Children’s Aid Society and Community Agencies/ Resources
- Child and Adolescent experience with specific individual/ group therapy interventions (g. Trauma Assessment & Treatment, Trauma-Focused demonstrated skills in working therapeutically with specific patient groups experiencing severe trauma related symptoms).
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, individual and / brief solution focused psychotherapy, TIST ( Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment)
- Knowledge and experience with different models of assessment and treatment for children/youth and families experiencing mental health issues.
- Demonstrates understanding of and incorporates trauma-informed approaches for young patients.
- Experience in the modality of Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment - TIST ( level 1 ) is preferred
- Demonstrated skills in working therapeutically with specific patient groups from children/youth, and their families and or legal guardians.
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated
