We are currently seeking those interested in a position as a **Track Machine Operator** to support our team.
**GENERAL PURPOSE**:
Ensuring safety is a priority, operators work in a team environment to build an maintain railways in numerous locations across Western Canada by operating one or more specific machines such as a Tamper/Mark IV, Regulator/broom, Boom truck, Hy tracker/Excavator with brush, rubber-tired Backhoe, Spiker, Rotodump/ dump truck (Class 3 or 1), Speed Swing/Pettibone, tie extractor/trip.
**In demand operators needed immediately** for Boom truck, Hy Tracker/Excavator, Tamper/Mark IV, Regulator/broom
Operators must also ensure compliance with all governed regulations such as DOT. Daily inspections and minor repairs are also completed.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Regular climbing up and down on and off equipment
- Occasional bending, and standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Exposed to outdoors regularly in all weather conditions (summer heat, rain, winter cold, etc.)
- Working with hazardous materials such as creosote, lubricants, oil, gasoline, diesel and exposed to dusty conditions
- Regular exposure to loud noise
- Unionized environment
- Regular out of town work, with overnight travel
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
- Able to work out of town, with overnight travel
- Minimum 6 months experience on working on railway
- Previous experience with one of the following is required: Tamper/Mark IV, Regulator/broom, Boom truck, Hy tracker/Excavator with brush, rubber-tired Backhoe, Spiker, Rotodump/ dump truck (Class 3 or 1), Speed Swing/Pettibone, Tie Extractor/Trip.
- Basic hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers
- Clear criminal record preferred
- Clean drivers abstract preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted is required
