Logistics & Receiving Coordinator

Sherwood Steel began as a family business in 1972. Starting as small steel fabricators and eventually growing to have provided materials for condo projects, schools, housing developments, and more for many years. Sherwood joined the Salit Group of Companies in 2020. Safety is paramount in all that we do and we have been a COR certified company since 2011.
Position Summary
Logistics & Receiving Coordinator is a key function for organizational success at Sherwood Steel Ltd. Some of the key functions include; creating and fostering working relationships with key external stakeholders, recording movement of materials and supplies, and coordinating between the production shop, job sites and field staff on the shipment of materials. Other responsibilities include:
- Examine shipment contents & compare with records, to verify accuracy of shipment
- Create bills of lading, rebar cut lists, invoices, or orders
- Record shipment data for reporting and accounting purposes
- Maintain reporting documents
- Review drawings and information from key stakeholders and enter into aSa
- Maintain customer relationships.
- Process customer orders and payments

Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in Shipping/Receiving role (previous experience working in the rebar industry & knowledge of aSa considered an asset).
- Excellent math skills (calculations, conversions)
- Experience reading Blueprints
- Proficient English language skills, strong computer skills and customer service skills
- Demonstrate patience and is able to direct difficult customers tactfully, courteously & professionally
- Administration or Office Education Certificate preferred
- Experience in sales or customer service
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular) and Google Suite
- Experience in aSa/Sage software an asset
- Preference given to those with experience in the construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication industry
