**Position and Responsibilities**

**Packaging**

  • Package finished doors & materials according to specifications and customer orders.
  • Ensure that product is properly protected to prevent damage during shipping.
  • Select appropriate packaging materials (boxes, pallets, padding, etc.) based on the type and size of products to be shipped.
  • Label each package with the correct shipping information, including customer details, destination, and handling instructions.
  • Ensure that all packaging materials are clean, undamaged, and free from defects.
  • Assemble and seal boxes, crates, or other containers as needed.

**Quality Assurance**

  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Inspect for any defects, scratches, or imperfections before packaging.
  • Document and report any quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure that all packaged items are properly labelled and identified.
  • Maintain accurate records of packaged items and their destinations.

**Shipping Preparation**

  • Prepare packaged doors for shipping, including loading them onto pallets or into containers.
  • Coordinate with the shipping department to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure that all shipping documents and labels are complete and accurate.
  • Stage packaged product in the shipping area for pickup or delivery.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles as needed.

**Safety and Maintenance**

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform routine maintenance on packaging equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

**Team Collaboration**

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.
  • Assist in training new employees as needed.

**Education and Qualifications**

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in packaging or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and guidelines.

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Experience operating packaging equipment (e.g., strapping machines, stretch wrappers).
  • Familiarity with shipping software and systems.
  • Certification in forklift operation

**Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment.

**Work Environment**

  • The work environment is in a manufacturing facility where the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots are required.
  • The job involves working with machinery and materials that may pose safety hazards. Proper safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Pay: $18.28-$21.43 per hour
