- Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment- Receive, verify, label and prepare clinical specimens for testing and shipping- May be required to register patient samples and request tests in the LIS, and perform non-complex sample processing- Provide service coverage for meals, breaks, vacation and sick leave as required.- Comply with / adhere to health and safety guidelines which include the practice of universal precautions- Perform all duties in accordance with the standards outlined in the laboratory quality assurance program- Show initiative and assist co-workers in timely sample processing- Assist in the instruction of medical laboratory students, residents and other health care workers as required- Perform other duties as assigned- Foster a positive work environment

QUALIFICATIONS- Criminal Record Check (Essential)- OSMT or College Technician (MLA) Certificate (or appropriate combination of training and experience) (Essential)- Previous experience working in a genetics laboratory (preferred)- Demonstrated verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills (Essential)- Demonstrated commitment to learning (Essential)- Bilingual (English/French) (preferred)- Demonstrated initiative; team work; flexible work schedule (Essential)- Works effectively under mínimal supervision (Essential)
